One Columbia for Arts & History
One Columbia for Arts and History is an organization borne from Mayor Steve Benjamin's transition team on the same subject. Members of that team stayed together to form a new non-profit organization to serve as a unifying force for Columbia's vibrant arts and history scene.
TheRackesGroup was charged with creating an informational "home" for all of Columbia's Artists, Arts Organizations, Arts and Historical Venues, and Events. The plan was to invite artists, arts and historic preservation organizations, and venues to add their own content to the database creating ownership by all participants.
With Barbara Rackes as interim-Executive Director, One Columbia and TRG were able to get the word out to the arts/history community via emails and discussion forums and populate the website with helpful and accurate information about arts and history opportunities in Columbia.
