Having spent most of his adult life making a difference for the children, families, schools, and communities of South Carolina as a high school English teacher, football coach, and higher education leader, Rex is poised to take his leadership to the Office of State Superintendent of Education on a platform of innovation, competitiveness, and common sense solutions to the challenges our public schools face.
The Winnsboro Democrat stated: "Minimally adequate is not an acceptable standard for our schools. I know that South Carolina can become the most innovative, choice-driven public education system in the country, and it is time for South Carolinians to stand together to move our public schools forward."
Rex believes that technology can become a large part of his initiatives to support the changes needed within South Carolina's public schools. He intends to use technology throughout his campaign to reach voters across the state, presenting his plan to provide more choice within South Carolina's public school system as a part of a comprehensive strategy to create educational breakthroughs.
